About me

I’m Dr Michael Wang, a Senior Clinical Psychologist and AHPRA board-approved supervisor based in Melbourne, Australia, with more than a decade of experience across hospitals, community health services, and private practice.

As a clinical supervisor, I mentor and support other psychologists as they develop their skills and progress toward full registration. I’ve also completed PhD research exploring how mindfulness, neuroscience, and chronic pain intersect, work that reinforced my belief that people aren’t defined by their struggles and that change is possible with the right support.

Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, low mood, relationship challenges, conflict, or the pressures of everyday life, I’ll work alongside you with a calm, respectful, and collaborative approach, helping you make sense of what’s going on and find a way forward that feels right for you.

Your story guides the work,
and we collaborate to create meaningful
change through warmth, respect, and thoughtful therapeutic practice.
My Approach
I work collaboratively with clients to understand their unique challenges and goals. My therapeutic style is grounded in warmth, respect, and clinical expertise, drawing from approaches such as:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Helps you understand how thoughts, emotions, and behaviours interact, and supports you to build practical skills for change.
Trauma-Informed Practice
Prioritises safety, trust, and choice while supporting you to understand how past experiences may be influencing your wellbeing today.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Focuses on building psychological flexibility, clarifying values, and taking meaningful action even in the presence of difficult thoughts or feelings.
Mindfulness-Based Interventions
Encourages awareness of the present moment, helping you notice thoughts and feelings with greater clarity and respond rather than react.
Schema Therapy

Explores longstanding patterns shaped by early experiences, helping you understand emotional triggers and develop healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.
Gottman Method Couples Therapy
Provides evidence-based tools to strengthen communication, deepen connection, and navigate conflict more constructively in relationships.

Our Story
Sometimes life throws up challenges that leave us feeling stuck — in our thoughts, in our relationships, or in patterns we can’t seem to shift. Therapy offers a space to pause, make sense of what’s happening, and find a way forward that feels right for you.
At Resilient Path Clinical Psychology, I believe every person has the capacity for resilience even through life’s toughest moments. I founded this practice to provide a compassionate, empowering space where people feel supported to navigate difficulties, build strength, and move forward with confidence.

The name reflects a core belief: that resilience is not a fixed trait but a path we can travel — one step at a time — with the right support, guidance, and practical strategies.

More about me
Outside of work, I spend a lot of time reading, mostly psychology, history, and philosophy, often with a strong coffee nearby. I enjoy getting out for hikes, a good dinner, and exploring new neighbourhoods or places I haven’t been before. I also occasionally get absorbed in a good video game, especially when I’m in the mood to switch off and get pulled into a different world.
